What Onion Search Engines Miss

Onion search engines are the closest thing the dark web has to a directory, and they are also the least reliable part of it. The reason is coverage. A search engine can only index what it can reach, and a lot of what is on the network is not reachable by a crawler, so the index is a sample, not a census. When you get a result, you are seeing what that engine happened to touch, not what exists.

The practical use is to find a market or a forum you did not already know about, not to verify an address. If a search engine hands you an onion, treat it as a lead and check it against the market’s own announcement before you trust it. The engine found the page. It did not confirm the page is the real one, and those are two different things.

darknet.center is a reference service. We list addresses and explain how each shop works, but we do not operate any of them and nothing here makes a purchase lawful in your jurisdiction. Verify every address against the market’s own announcement before you type a password.
