A no-KYC exchanger is a service that lets you move coins without handing over documents, and the trade is a limit. You can move a certain amount before the service asks for proof of who you are, and the limit is the whole of the model. For regular small top-ups it works well. For a large one-off it does not, and the people who try to move a lot through a small limit are the ones who end up handing over the documents anyway.

A peer-to-peer swap and an atomic swap are the routes that do not have that ceiling, because there is no service in the middle holding your identity. The cost is that you are dealing with another person, and the safety comes from the structure of the trade, an escrow or a locked contract, rather than from a company you can call. Read the structure before you trust it.
